Saw this extrodinary movie
when I was 14 years old in 1952. It was the first movie I saw on a brand new 12" Crosley TV set my pop bought.
Never forgot it. It was great. Thanks for posting

Dated Yet Gripping
This Maxwell Anderson play dates a bit but the subject is relevant even today. The present day Labor Unions nexus with big business in framing Union Leaders exists even today at least in Developing countries.
The dialogues are a little too stagy. Obviously the director preferred to maintain the original stage dialogues. The film as such resembles a play more than a movie.
But worth watching and can be remade with a little mordernisation.

This is Soooo Good!
Burgess Meredith is always great, plus here, his gift for carrying off, kind of, corny lines is needed a few times. Only a few.
So, there IS a role John Carradine could not play, huh? Someone with an Italian accent. lol
Yea, really. thanks for uploading this gem B)

Excellent score
Worth the watch for the listen alone. Moralistic in a way not possible after its epoch; the script is stilted after that manner. The insertion of the love interest is unfortunate. Wonderful sets, fine acting.

WINTERSET
Margo from The Lost horizon co-stars with Burgess Meridith who is known as the trainer from the Rocky films in this noirish tale of family vengence.I loved it. I saw it on a PBS channel one snowy Sunday evening as a child. I finally was able to buy it on dvd.If you love old movies please watch it.It is a compleatly forgotten gem.
